The new syndicated talk show, featuring Katie Couric, Katie, will premiere on Monday, September 10th if the production remains on schedule. And, so far Katie has been fairly smooth sailing as it heads toward broadcast.
Jeff Zucker, executive producer, made the announcement this week via an internal—corporate only—webcast directed to the stations that will air Katie. Zucker also unveiled the show’s logo.
Zucker also announced a couple of key additions to the show staff.
Joe Terry, who spent 14 years as the director of The Oprah Winfrey Show, has been named director, and Kathy Samuels has been hired as co-executive producer. Samuels had a hand in launching Rachael Ray and Access Hollywood.
“We couldn’t be more excited about September 10,” Zucker said, in making the announcements. “It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Looks like a new anti-depressant.

Guy, I'll bet—this year—that's what all concerned with the show are hoping for. Something not depressing.

I'm sorry to see that ABC felt it had to have Katie Couric on to showcase her for her new show. I can think of a lot of other people I would like to have had on for a week while my lovely, excellent, beautiful Robin is out. Katie is really a "has been". She has had her chance and now move on! Don't come to GMA.
